Favorite things I miss.

Here are ten things, other than my boys and brother, that I miss so much right now from the U.S.

1. Jack-in-the-box Black Cherry Milkshakes.

2.  Best Buy and Fry's.  (The few electronic stores that I've seen here are pretty unorganized and small.  One day, I'll have to go and check out the Expert that's located in Copenhagen.  I hear that it's a better one.)

3.  Carlos Mexican Restaurant's Saturday and Sunday morning buffet.  Gosh!  The MIGAS are awesome.  Also, I have to admit that I do miss Las Ramadas margaritas.

4.  My cat Jackie.  She's a sweet girl.

5.  24-Hour Walmart.  Open seven days a week too.

6.  Showtimes - Dexter.

7.  The Woodlands Mitchell Pavilion and The Verizon.  Dammit!  All them damned good concerts that were just right outside my front door.

8.  Deerbrook Mall's AMC Theatre

9.  Hot Topic

10.  STARBUCKS!!!!!!  Raspberry Green Tea Frappuccino's are my FAVORITE.

OH... I can't leave this out too.

11.  Baba Yega's Restaurant located in the middle of Montrose.  I recommend it to everyone.  Actual photos Keld and I took there.

Here is one with Keld playing RAVING RABBITS, but... it just looks like something else.

Black and White picture

You know, I must admit that Keld came across this photo on STUMBLE... I just had to post it cause it's like the coolest photo.

Check out the little girl.

Love.

If you would of asked me, probably about 12 years ago, I would of told you that it was a bunch of crap. Now... I can't say that I COULDN'T LOVE. I mean... I totally love my kids to death. What I'm saying is, to have the love for a partner. I was always a bit jealous of my dad and step-mom. They were the perfect couple. Did everything together... drove me nuts. I remember asking my dad why was he always up her butt. Couldn't he pry himself away from her? To the end... their love continued.

Keld.

It's been about 2 1/2 years since we've been together. Being born the same year, same month, you just being 3 days older... not too mention the same sense of humor that makes them "good" Christians cringe. We definitely are two peas in pod.

I knew from the beginning, when I saw you at my brother's wedding, that we were going to be connected. I don't regret anything either. You are my half, you are my soul... and even after living 2 1/2 years together and 1 year of being married today, I'm still in love with you. If I were a cannibal, I'd eat you all up.

May our lives continue with more rock concerts, horror movies, debates about how chihuahuas are better than labradors, and most important your kisses.

Monique

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

Yes, I am 38 today. I hope my next birthday will be as nice as it was today.

Dee's first day of school

Well, today was Dee's first day of school. Let's just say it started off with a 35 minute walk up two hills in 40 degree weather. and I can't really speak for Danielle, but for me, it was pure torture. These 38 year old legs of mine, forgetful of the burger, french fried, and milk shake made body that it carries, was surely reminded this morning.

As we arrived and got situated inside the school, I realized that I was going to have to speak to one of the front secretaries in Danish. Yeah, pretty scary I tells ya... but I did get myself understood. We waited about 20 minutes until a student was sent over to accompany Dee to her class. I was sad. It was like the first day she started in Pre-K. I made my was back home, another 35 minute walk downhill.

Sometimes you really don't realize how much you need contact. Being home alone was really sad for me... Keld being at work and Dee at school. I didn't know what to do. So... I slapped on some Ben-Gay and crawled onto the couch and watch Dr. Phil.

So now it's 6 p.m. and my family's home. I just got through sipping a good cup of Joe and now I am watching one of my favorite movies - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It's pretty upsetting that Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro never got that recognition they deserved in this film. It's freaking awesome!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN, TO YOU...

Yep, today I have another birthday to announce. This one is really special to me though... because I am proud to say that my first born son is now 18.

Christian, may you continue having that great dark sense of humor, respect and consideration for humanity and animality (it's 6 am, I can't think right now and I know it's the wrong word... so what!). Now is the time for you to keep focused on your life. Stay away from girls, drugs, cigarettes, blow-up dolls... one beer a day will not kill you... and always know that I love you.
