Last day of Sprogskole

Today was my last day of language school and the official beginning of summer vacation. Woohoo! Also, with all of my past attempts in weasling out of taking my oral exam, I had to do it today. I stressed over a week in preparation, trying to memorize what I was going to say, to only forget EVERYTHING when the time came. So, I just winged it; and to make things more uncomfortable, during the oral exam, the subject that I talked about was my grandparents, which in turn made me cry because I talked about how they first met during WW2 in Paris, France. Their story had always been romantic to me and it made me think back to how wonderful they were. Gosh.

It was an emotional moment that I made my examiner cry, as well as, the girl who was helping her question me. We all cried and shared stories of our grandparents.

So, after all, I passed and in level 3.3 in Danish. Almost there!

Here are some photos of our party after class. The food was great and I really like the girls from Thailand. They are super sweet and great cooks.

Tivoli during October

As we sailed back into Copenhagen, we had a day planned with activities with the Anthoni's at Tivoli. They were show-casing their carved pumpkins, as well as, teaching young Danes the art of pumpkin carving. Since Halloween is my favorite holiday, and October being right in the heart of Autumn with it's colorful leaves, cool weather, dark gloomy skies, and the feeling of ghouls and goblins tinkering around the corner, I was in hog-heaven.

The colors in the park were amazing.
