Well, today was Dee's first day of school. Let's just say it started off with a 35 minute walk up two hills in 40 degree weather. and I can't really speak for Danielle, but for me, it was pure torture. These 38 year old legs of mine, forgetful of the burger, french fried, and milk shake made body that it carries, was surely reminded this morning.
As we arrived and got situated inside the school, I realized that I was going to have to speak to one of the front secretaries in Danish. Yeah, pretty scary I tells ya... but I did get myself understood. We waited about 20 minutes until a student was sent over to accompany Dee to her class. I was sad. It was like the first day she started in Pre-K. I made my was back home, another 35 minute walk downhill.
Sometimes you really don't realize how much you need contact. Being home alone was really sad for me... Keld being at work and Dee at school. I didn't know what to do. So... I slapped on some Ben-Gay and crawled onto the couch and watch Dr. Phil.
So now it's 6 p.m. and my family's home. I just got through sipping a good cup of Joe and now I am watching one of my favorite movies - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It's pretty upsetting that Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro never got that recognition they deserved in this film. It's freaking awesome!
wow that is a longish walk for uphill... did you go get her when school was over?!?! How did she like it? and more importantly how well are you speaking danish?! :) How long do you have to wait before you can start working? Is the city/town you are living in big enough for you to go explore or do you pretty much know your way around already? Soon the boys will be there and that will be something to keep you busy.
