Church Bjernede

This past Wednesday, after having lunch with the family in Ringsted, we went to visit one of the seven round churches found here on Zealand.  The other six are found on Bornholm.

I am always stoked when I hear how old these buildings are.  Bjernede Rundkirke's granite foundation is from about the year 1170 and the pulpit from the 1600's.  Amazing!

I was hoping to take a glimpse of the church's interior, but because we visited during the Christmas holidays, it was closed.

Here are some pictures I took.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I'm proud to be able to experience living in Denmark... and hope to explore more.
